Soil Layer Installer

An older map tool. Soil Fertilizer no longer needs it. Safe to skip on a new farm.

In the dairy year

You do not need this to start a dairy year anymore. Current Soil Fertilizer builds its own per-pixel maps when the save loads. No map patch. No extra exe in the usual path.

If you already patched a map in an earlier season, nothing breaks. Those layers are a fallback. You do not undo them.

The feel

This is a one-click Windows tool for map makers and for history. It is not a companion you enable next to the tablet. It is not part of the One Door.

How it works

Older Soil Fertilizer builds tracked one average per field. Spray the left half and the whole field showed the same number, because the map had no pixel layers for nutrients.

The installer patches the active map zip and adds nine density-map layers:

Layer What it tracks
Nitrogen N
Phosphorus P
Potassium K
pH Acidity
Organic matter OM
Pest Pest pressure
Disease Disease pressure
Compaction Compaction
Yield Yield potential (field average)

It finds the save and the map automatically, backs up the map zip, adds the layer entries to the map’s .i3d, writes a blank 1024×1024 starting image for each layer, and verifies all nine are present. On the next load the engine registers them and Soil Fertilizer can switch from field-average to per-pixel. Spray half a field and the map shows a left/right split.

Requirements if you still need it: Farming Simulator 25 closed, Soil Fertilizer 2.3.0 or later, at least one career save on that map, and the map zip in the mods folder.

How you use it

The outs

Soil Fertilizer is the living chapter. This tool does not replace it.

What you need

Nothing. Most dairy years never install this.

How it connects

In the dairy year these sit next to this chapter. None are required.
