In the dairy year

Tax accumulates while you work. December warns you. The collection lands in March. If you are under the minimum balance, the bill is skipped. That is an escape hatch, not a cheat menu.

Winter at the Cockpit is when you see the year the taxman saw.

The feel

Real farm businesses do not pay tax on every sale. They settle up annually. This mod works the same way. Rates are configurable. Companions can record expenses for the audit trail. Tax Mod does not steal their money write. Time Guard says when. This mod writes the tax.

How it works

1. Through the year income-based tax accumulates in the background. Nothing is deducted yet.
2. December a notice shows the estimated bill, what percentage of your current balance it is, and the total accumulated so far. Time to decide whether to spend before year-end.
3. March the full bill is collected: accumulated × annual rate.

Your minimum balance is always protected. If the payment would drop you below it, that year is skipped.

Two rates sit side by side:

Statistics persist: total paid, total returned, and the running annual accumulation.

Settings live under Esc → Settings → General (scroll to Tax Mod): enable, both rates, notifications, and HUD. On the Farm Tablet the Tax app shows status, rate, return percent, total paid, and an enable / disable toggle that writes straight into this mod’s settings.

How you use it

• Read the Tax app or the Esc tax page.
• Plan spending after the December heads-up.
• Keep a floor if you do not want a surprise collection to strand the herd.

The outs

Income, wages, fuel, and milk cheques are the year being taxed. The Cockpit is the desk. Settings Hub can hold the admin dials. Time Guard keeps the calendar honest.

What you need

This mod alone is an annual bill. Time Guard is the nicer clock. Farm Tablet is the deep tax desk. Optional.
